Patrick's Story.
Patrick Leech was born in Hulme, but he moved to 41, Old Market Place, Knutsford with his wife, Elizabeth and five children.
He enlisted in the 1st Battalion of the Cheshire Regiment in 1914, becoming Private no. 11678 and arrived in France on the 26th January 1915.
He was killed in action on the 9th April 1916.
The Bn. War Diary states
'9th - enemy very active with trench mortars. One man wounded.'
He is sometimes listed with the surname 'LEACH'.
