Martin's Story.

Born in 1894 at Cadishead, Lancashire, son of farm labourer, Martin and Mary, (nee, Halligan), Kilgannon. Martin and Mary were living in 1891 at Radley Hill, Lymm, before moving to Rixton with Glazebrook, Warrington. Martin Jnr was the third son of four boys; his brothers were John, James and Joseph. He enlisted at Lymm, and his theatre of conflict was at the Ypres Salient, Belgium. He was killed in action on Tuesday, 31 July 1917 at the Third Ypres Battle, Passchendaele.
