Harry's Story.

Harry was born in Lymm in 1896, eldest son of William Henry and Lucy Jackson of 3 Moston Street, Lymm.

He was educated at Lymm School and was first employed after leaving school as a stable boy for a local grocer, later by Mr G Dalton, a baker in Lymm village.  He was a former member of the Lymm Wednesday Football Team.

He enlisted with the Kings Royal Rifle Corps in July 1915 in Altrincham, service number R14618 and was posted to the front in January 1916.  He later transferred to the Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry.

He was reported missing after an engagement on July 30th 1916,  it was later confirmed that he had been killed in action on that date.
