ROCK FERRY SOLDIER KILLED.

News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Greening, of 62, Chatham Road, Rock Ferry, that their only son Lance-Corporal William Henry Greening, of the 9th K.L.R., was killed in action on September 28. He joined the colours on Oct. 15th, 1915, and was drafted to France, where he was wounded and taken prisoner twice, escaping on each occasion. He was originally attached to the 6th K.L.R. Before joining up he was for 18 years with Mr. John Williams, grocer and provision dealer, Grange Road.

He was educated at Rock Ferry Higher Grade School, and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
