Accidentally Drowned.

Oxton Footballer’s End.

Mrs. Evans, of Oxton, has received the distressing news that her second son, Gunner Alfred Evans, has been accidentally drowned. Where the occurrence happened is not stated. Gunner Evans joined the R.F.A. about 4 ½ months ago, and set sail for the front seven weeks ago. He was very well known in the town, especially in football circles, for he played for Cole’s A.F.C. on two occasions when they won medals. He had been employed for 13 years by Mr. F. E. Rowlands, of Rose Mount. He was an unmarried man, 27 years of age.
