George Henry's Story.

Nantwich Guardian, Friday, June 15, 1917.

Gunner G. H. Dutton.

Gunner G. H. Dutton, of the Royal Field Artillery, has been killed in action. He was an Army Reservist and went to the front on the outbreak of hostilities.  He had seen three years fighting. He was 36 years of age, and before the war was employed in the Crewe Steel Works. He was very well known in Crewe. His mother lives in 45 Manchester Street, Crewe, and his wife lives at Manchester. He leaves five children. The following are extracts from letters he sent to his mother: “The prisoners I have seen do look a sight. I fancy we shall have to stay another winter out here, because I cannot see how we are going to finish the war this year.”
