Albert Edward's Story.

Second Lieutenant Albert Edward Dickin, Cheshire Regiment, who has died at the front at forty-six years of age, he was a prominent oarsman on the Dee. He lived all his life in Chester and had obtained many successes with the Royal Chester and Grosvenor Rowing Clubs, at Chester and at provincial regattas. “Fours”, of which he was a member, have brought to Chester some of the most coveted rowing trophies in the provinces. He also rowed in Eights and Fours at Henley Regatta. His heart and soul was in rowing, and for three years he held the captaincy of both Royal Chester and the Grosvenor Rowing Club. He was also a member of the Curzon Park Golf Club and one year won the Mond Cup. He was a man for whom no age was too advanced to fight for his country, no matter what any Act of Parliament might say on the matter.
