Arthur's Story.
Born in 1894 at Adlington, son of farmer, Samuel and Mary Hannah (nee Worsencroft) Cooke of Duncalf Farm, Aldington, Bollington. Arthur was the middle child of three; his elder brother was Wilfred, and a younger sister, Lilian. Arthur worked on the farm.
Arthur enlisted at Macclesfield, however his record shows he died in the 8th Durham V.A.D. Hospital, West Hartlepool, aged 24 years.
