DEATH OF “A FEARLESS SOLDIER.”

Mr. and Mrs. Fazackerley, of 13, Davies Street, have received official intimation that their son, Pte. Richard John Fazackerley, died of wounds on May 11th, at a Clearing Station, in France, after being hit by a German sniper. His officer in a letter to his mother states :- “He was one of the best soldiers in his company, and the other officers and men will miss him tremendously. He was a hard worker, absolutely fearless and always cheery, especially when things were not going too well. We could do well with more men like him.” Prior to the outbreak of war Pte Fazackeley served 18 months in the Regular Army, having seen service since 1914. He was well-known in the town, therefore much sorrow will be felt at his death.
