Harold John's Story.

Born Crewe, enlisted Knowsley. Son of Joseph and Agnes Bickerton of 60, McLaren Street, Crewe. A former pupil of Hightown LNWR Boys School. Prior to enlisting, was employed by Mr Pemberton, Tailor of Market Street, Crewe. The sinking of the Lusitania prompted him to enlist. Went to France on December 29, 1915 and was killed by machine gun fire.
