John Charles's Story.

Born Crewe, enlisted Preston. Son of William and Sarah Bearpark of 17, Liverpool Terrace, Crewe. As a butcher by trade, was previously employed by Mr Stringer of Nantwich Road. Enlis ted on September 3, 1914 and promoted to Bombardier on July 9, 1915. Went to France on July 15, 1915. His cousin John would be killed in action in September 1916.
