YOUNG WIFE BEREAVED.
We much regret to announce the death of Private James Young, 62, William Street, Birkenhead, who was killed in action on October 24th.
Private Young, who was attached to the 1st King’s Liverpool Regiment, arrived home in Birkenhead on January 10th from India after serving 6 ½ years there, and was engaged as a postman in the town. As a reservist he was called upon to rejoin his regiment on August 5th, and left Aldershot for France on August 13th, and was constantly in the thick of the fighting until October 24th, when he was killed.
Private Young was only 27 years of age, and was married just before leaving for the front. Much sympathy will be extended to his young wife in her sad bereavement.
