William's Story.

Birkenhead News  22 September 1917

ENLISTED AT 15.

A very young soldier has fallen in the person of Pte. W. Davies, who was killed on Sept. 3rd by a German shell. He joined the colours at the age of only 15, and would have celebrated his 17th birthday during the week. Pte. Davies had been wounded three times, and had been at the Dardanelles. He was educated at Conway Street Schools, and his death will be deeply regretted by all who knew him.
