Killed in Action

Private FRED BENNETT

Word has been received to the effect that Pte. Fred Bennett, whose age was 19 years, has been killed in action. Fred Bennett, who was attached to the Australian Imperial Forces, came to England from his home in Australia in September, 1916, and after spending four days’ leave last October with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Jones, of 13, Paterson Street, Birkenhead, proceeded to France in December, being killed in action on February 21st, 1917. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bennett, late of Brougham Street, Tranmere, now living in Australia. His father was well known at Messrs. Cammell Laird’s, having worked there for many years.
