NEWS OF A ROCK FERRY SOLDIER

Mr. and Mrs. J Oakley, who reside at 8, St. Paul’s Road, Rock Ferry, have received word that their son, Lance Corporal Herbert Oakley of the Cheshire Regiment, is now a prisoner of war in the hands of the Turks, and is in hospital at Constantinople suffering from fever. Lance Corporal Oakley was captured by the Turks whilst fighting in Egypt some few months ago. He is a brother-in-law of Private Richard Harden whose death in action is recorded in this issue.
