Lesley Reginald Probyn's Story.

Born on 13 Apr 1885, the son of Rev. John Hutchinson Hindson and Lavina Alice Julia Hindson (née Butler) of Sandbach, Cheshire.

Educated at Lambrook School, Bracknell and at Winchester College from 1908 to 1913 (House Prefect)

Gentleman Cadet, RMA, Woolwich in 1913

Served with A Battery, 187th Brigade, RFA

Commended by the Divisional Commander for presence of mind and promptness in removing a number of men and horses from the wagon lines to a place of shelter under heavy fire. Killed in action at Messines on 10 June 1917.
