William Edward's Story.

Son of Mr. Henry Bailey and Mrs.Fanny Elizabeth Bailey, of 21, Nelson Street, Congleton, Cheshire and 47, Swan Street, Congleton, Cheshire. He also lived at 36, Welles Street, Sandbach, Cheshire as a boarder. He was employed as a Baker. He had three sisters, Minnie, Nellie and Annie Bailey and three brothers, Arthur, Ellis, and Harry Bailey. He was employed by Mr. Baskerville of Sandbach.

Private William Edward Bailey enlisted in the 23rd Battalion, of the Welsh Regiment in April 1916 and was transferred to the 6th Battalion, The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers who were part of the 150th Brigade, 50th Northumbrian Division.
