William's Story.

Private William Dixon.

Mrs Dixon, off Canal-side Wheelock, has received news that her son, Private William Dixon, of the Cheshire Regiment has been killed in action on August 5. Private Dixon who was 23, formerly worked at Messrs. Brunner Mond and Co. works, and was a member of the Sandbach Territorials. He went on service three years ago and saw fighting at Gallipoli. He was invalided home from that front, and on his recovery, he was sent to another front in January this year. He was killed exactly 3 years from the day he left home, August 5. He has two other brothers serving abroad, one Lance Corporal J Dixon having been awarded the D.C.M.
