DIED ON ACTIVE SERVICE.

News has been received in Heswall from the Admiralty that Mr. William Jackson, who was a carpenter in the Navy, has died from illness whilst on active service. Mr. Jackson was an old member of the Heswall Football and Cricket Clubs, the Young Men’s Club, and the Heswall Brass Band. The funeral took place in a Naval cemetery on Tuesday, full Naval honours being given.
