Private C Holt 3105 of the Cheshire Regiment, 4th Btn, died of typhoid on 28th January 1901 at Springfontein, Free State, South Africa.

He is remembered on a brass plaque in the south porch of St Michael and All Angels Church, in Macclesfield, and in Chester Cathedral.
