Birkenhead Soldier Killed.

Former Chester Street Barman.

Mrs. Hooper, of 7, Morton Street, Birkenhead, has received the sad news that her husband, Pte. William Hooper, has been killed in action. Her joined the Cheshire Regt. at the beginning of the war, and had been at the front for 16 months. Before enlisting he was employed at the Fat Works, Vittoria Street, but he was best known as a barman, for prior to his last employment he worked for a number of years for Messrs Welsby and Deacon, Chester Street. He leaves a widow and three children. He was the fifth son of Mr. Hooper, of Brook Street.
