Frank's Story.

One Killed, leaving Motherless Children.
Mrs. Selby, of 21, Farm Road, Lower Tranmere, has received the distressing news that her eldest son, Private Frank Selby, 13th Battalion Cheshire Regiment, was killed in action on March 29th. He leaves two children, who are now fatherless and motherless, Mrs. F Selby having died while her husband was at the front.
Two of the deceased’s brothers are also in the Army. Private David Selby, is in the Army Cycle Corps, and has been at the front for nine months, while Private George Selby, aged 19, has been out with his battalion, 1/5th Cheshires, for 18 months. Up to the present both these boys have sustained no injuries.
The above newspaper report is reproduced exactly as printed and reports Frank's death as March 29th, when in fact his actual date of death is May 13th, as per the Commonwealth War Graves database and other military records.
