Nantwich Guardian, Friday, August 2, 1918.

Mr. and Mrs. W Steele, of 26 Flag Lane, Crewe, have received information that their son, Private T.E. Steele, Royal Welsh Fusiliers has been killed in action. He was 20 years of age and had seen about twelve months of fighting. Prior to enlistment he was employed at a works at Wincham. He was a member of the Crewe Men’s Own Brotherhood, and his many friends at Crewe and Northwich will very much regret his death. A memorial service was held in the Hightown Congregational Church on Sunday, the preacher being the Rev. W. Plaskett, of Sandbach.
