Henry Sheriff's Story.

Henry Sheriff Roberts was the 2nd of the (Sheriff) Roberts brothers to die, this time in 1917.   Please click on the link to read Frederick Sheriff’s story and also Alan Sheriff’s story.

Henry’s family history is the same as for the 2 other brothers, except he was christened in Chester Cathedral Precincts.    He was born on the 18th November 1887 and Christened on the 10th January 1888.  The family’s address then was 11, Lumley Road, Chester and his father’s occupation was Wine Merchant.

I cannot find Henry in the 1911 census when he would have perhaps moved away or perhaps he was already in the Army, although I cannot find him anywhere at the moment.    Any help with him would be gratefully received.

I cannot find any Army Service Papers for him, including Medal Cards, they may have been lost in the bombings of the 2nd World War.

Henry Sheriff Roberts in the UK, Soldiers Died in the Great War, 1914-1919 just confirms his regimental details and his death date of 27th August 1917 when he was Killed in Action.
