Chester Chronicle, Saturday, December 21, 1918.

Bombardier G. N. G. Roberts (Died)
Bombardier George Newell Gilbert Roberts,  R.F.A., of 45 Whipcord Lane, Chester, whose death of pneumonia took place in France on November 16th. He will be remembered as a choir boy at Holy Trinity Church, and later as a clerk in the Town Clerk’s office, which he entered in 1902. Up to the time of his voluntarily joining the army in 1915 he was in charge of local taxations licences department. His genial and open-hearted nature made him most popular amongst his colleagues, and he will be greatly missed by his friends. Great sympathy is felt for his widow and two young children.
