John Philip Edmund's Story.

Wallasey Office Killed.

The death in action in France on October 13, is announced of Second Lieutenant John Philip Edmund Owens,  of the 6th battalion North Staffordshire Regiment.
The late Lieutenant Owens, who was twenty-seven years of age, was the younger son of Mr. Philip R. Owens, of 4 Beresford Road, Wallasey. He was educated at Wallasey Grammer School, and up to the time of joining the forces in March last he was in the employ of the Pacific Steam Navigation  Company in Liverpool. On being given a commission in the North Staffordshire Regiment he went for three months training at Harpenden. He proceeded to the front with his regiment on July 11. Much sympathy will be extended to Mr. Owens, who recently lost wife, in this latest sad bereavement.
