Harold E's Story.
Private H. E. Farmer
Mr. Farmer, Richmond Street, Crewe has received information that his son, Private H. E. Farmer, of the Cheshire Regiment has been killed in action. He was 22 years of age and enlisted in February 1915. Before the war he was employed by Mr. Turner, butcher, West Street, Crewe.
For 16 years Private Farmer was a chorister in St. Peter’s Mission Church, Crewe. One of his sisters, Miss Mary Farmer, is a nurse at the war hospital at Bradford, and before taking up that position, she was in a hospital in Leeds and Crewe Auxiliary Red Cross Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, 3 November at St. Peters Mission Church
