Joseph Francis's Story.

Born Crewe (September 26, 1877), enlisted Nantwich.
 
Resided with his sister, Esther Maria Jones, at 50, Peel Street,
Crewe, whose husband Francis was also killed in 1915.
Formerly employed by Fodens, Sandbach. Served during the
Boer War and saw action at Tugela Heights, Lang’s Nek and
at the Relief of Ladysmith. Went to France on
December 11, 1914.
