George's Story.

Lance Corporal George Vernon

Mrs. Vernon as received news of her husband's death from a comrade, and later from his officer, have informed her that he'd been killed in action on September 3rd. Lance Corporal Vernon was the sun off Mr. Charles Vernon, Bunbury Heath, and was formerly employed by the County Council. He enlisted in March last, and rapidly gaining promotion was sent to the front in July. He was a member of the Bunbury Wesleyan Church and special tribute was paid to his memory during Sunday mornings service.
