Frederick's Story.

Frederick Arthur Comyn was born in 1897 in West Bromwich, the son of Frederick Arthur Ernest Comyn (a telephone inspector) and Blanche Comyn. In 1911 he was living at 32 Cambridge Street West Bromwich.

In September 1914 he enlisted in the 8th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment (Service Number 13808) and landed in France 18th July 1915. Just 3 months later he was killed in action on 19th October 1915. He is buried in Rue-des-Berceaux Military Cemetery, Richebourg-l'Avoue France

At the time of his death his parents were living at 34 Watergate Row Chester (having moved from 117 Holyhead Road Handwich Birmingham).

He is commemorated on the Chester City Memorial.

His younger brother John Courtney Comyn was killed on 7th May 1943 whilst in the RAFVR and is buried in Tripoli War Cemetery (q.v.)
