Alfred's Story.

Born and enlisted Shrewsbury. Husband of Mildred
Clayton. Resided at 59, Underwood Lane, Crewe. Previously
served in the Boer War and was a former labourer in Crewe
Works. The 1st Bn. King’s Royal Rifles Corps landed in
France at Rouen on August 13, 1914.
