William's Story.

PRIVATE WILLIAM SHAW. Mr. and Mrs. William Shaw, of 4, Rock !fount. Runcorn, have received the official intimation that their Son, Private William Shaw has died of dysentery. Private Shaw was 28 years of age, and enlisted in the Cheshire Regiment in the machine-gun section on August 11th. 1914, a week after the war was declared. He was sent out after five months of training, first to the Dardanelles and from there to Egypt, and was then attached to the Indian Expeditionary Force. He has one brother who has was in the forces for six years, and who got his discharge same year. before the war commenced after having been out in India twice. Prior to enlisting the deceased was employed at one of the Widnes works, and before that he worked at Wigg Island Works, Runcorn.
